Booking Chase Sanborn As A Guest Artist

A typical guest artist appearance involves anywhere from a day to a week of clinics, rehearsals and performances. The first step is simply to send an email, expressing interest. Briefly describe what you have in mind and when. That opens the dialog on fees, expenses, schedule and other questions. Don’t worry if the funding is not in place yet, simply getting the ball rolling is the key to making it happen!

Chase is a Yamaha Artist, and co-sponsorship may be possible. The first step is to approach your local Yamaha dealer with a proposal and a specific request. Provide information about who will attend the event and the budget, as well as what you are seeking in sponsorship. Once you have a commitment from a local dealer, they can help you request additional funding from Yamaha.

Performance

Usually, a guest artist appearance culminates in a concert featuring Chase with the big band and possibly small groups as well. Chase has a handpicked collection of feature charts that are fun to play and sound good with groups ranging from high school to professional. PDF parts can be sent prior to the engagement. Chase is also happy to play on any charts you may have in your book already. For small groups, most standards or jazz tunes are fine; Chase can send charts for any of the tunes on his CDs.
