About Lead Pipe Swab
A lightweight, absorbent and quick-drying microfiber cloth is firmly attached to a stiff but flexible nylon cord. Unlike swabs that rely on a weight to pull the string through the slide, the nylon cord has enough rigidity that it is easy to simply feed it through both lead pipe and tuning slide. The cloth is fluffy but compressible; it contacts all the inner surface of the tube and leaves the critical front end of the horn clean as the proverbial whistle.
