*NEW* Lead Pipe Swab

Swab The first shipment sold out quickly. The swabs are back in stock in limited quantity.

I love this new lead pipe swab from Yamaha because it is so quick, easy and effective that I actually use it every day.

A lightweight, absorbent and quick-drying microfiber cloth is firmly attached to a stiff but flexible nylon cord. Unlike swabs that rely on a weight to pull the string through the slide, the nylon cord has enough rigidity that it is easy to simply feed it through both lead pipe and tuning slide. The cloth is fluffy but compressible; it contacts all the inner surface of the tube, regardless of bore size.

You’ll want to start with a clean horn, and an occasional wash is still advisable, but a few seconds a day will keep the critical front end spotless and reduce buildup throughout the instrument.

The nylon cord feeds easily through the tuning slide and lead pipe.
(It is recommended to pass through in this direction.)

Swab 2

Swab 3

A light tug pulls the swab through the tubes.

Leadpipe

After one pass, the lead pipe is spotless.
