Don Johnson’s Comprehensive Routine

After an illustrious career as a top orchestral and studio musician, Don Johnson went on to become one of Canada’s foremost brass teachers. His studio produced many of the first-call players in Toronto for the past several decades. He is an experienced, informed and motivational instructor, dedicated to producing well-rounded and well-grounded brass players.
Now semi-retired but as energetic and passionate as ever, Don has finally published the practice routine that has helped so many students become fine brass players. Dubbed ‘an approach to consistency’, Don divides the practice regimen into sixteen ‘slices of a pie’, and provides exercises and advice to develop all areas of your playing. The last section of the book consists of a collection of brass articles originally published in Canadian Musician magazine, written in Don’s inimitable style.
This is a very useful book from a world-class teacher that will be a useful addition to any brass player’s library.
